The FIXERZ 8D Master File. A Complete Working Package From D0 to D8.
A practical 8D working package for organisations that need to answer customer claims, control internal quality problems and require suppliers to respond through one stronger, consistent problem-solving structure. The package combines three working versions, the complete D0–D8 flow, supporting problem-solving tools, an explanation booklet, company-logo personalisation and direct FIXERZ support when questions arise.
Three Versions for Three Different Claim Relationships.
The same quality discipline needs different working interfaces depending on whether the problem comes from a customer, from inside your own process or from a supplier.
Customer Claim Response Version
For your team to use when a customer complaint, escalation or 8D request arrives. It provides a structured route from D0 emergency response through investigation, containment, root cause, corrective action, verification, prevention and D8 closure.
Internal Claim Version
For internal nonconformities and manufacturing problems that need disciplined investigation even when no customer claim has yet been opened. It helps the team apply the same structured thinking before a problem escapes.
Supplier Response Version
For sending to a supplier when your organisation requires a structured response. It creates a consistent framework for reviewing their containment, problem definition, root-cause logic, corrective actions, evidence and closure.
From D0 to D8 — Plus the Analysis and Evidence Around It.
The Master File is designed around the complete customer-claim response rather than treating the 8D as eight empty boxes.
Immediate Response, Team & Problem
Capture the problem description, customer, quality responsible person, part number, claim number, date and cross-functional team so the response starts with one identified case and clear ownership before the investigation runs ahead of the facts.
Containment & Customer Protection
Record the containment response and operational status, including inspection activity, quality alerts, production-stop decisions where applicable, sample receipt, controlled stock, WIP, completion dates, defect quantities and PPM information.
Occurrence & Detection Root Cause
Separate why the defect occurred from why it was not detected, so corrective actions attack both sides of the failure.
Corrective Action & Verification
Keep corrective actions for occurrence and escape visibly separated, identify critical actions, then document implementation and evidence that the actions work.
Prevention & System Updates
Keep PFMEA, Control Plan, minimum process or equipment standards, lessons learned and rollout to similar lines or products connected to the claim response.
Controlled Closure
Close the response only after the required actions, verification, evidence and system changes have been completed.
Occurrence 5 Why
A structured analysis page for tracing the chain behind why the problem occurred and connecting the analysis to the resulting measure.
Detection 5 Why
A separate analysis route for understanding why the defect escaped the existing detection or control system.
Cause-and-Effect Analysis
A structured Ishikawa section covering Equipment, Process, Manpower, Material, Environment and Management so the investigation explores the wider system before jumping to conclusions.
Lessons Learned Record
Capture the problem, cause, lesson learned, action and process change so the organisation can transfer learning beyond the individual claim and similar processes.
Documents & Attachments
The package provides space and guidance for the supporting evidence that should sit behind the response rather than leaving the 8D disconnected from its proof.
Defect & Supporting Images
Include relevant defect images and visual evidence where they help make the problem and investigation clearer and more defensible.
It Controls the Information a Customer, Manager or Supplier Will Challenge.
The value is not only the D0–D8 sequence. The working structure keeps the operational details around the claim visible instead of allowing them to disappear across emails, spreadsheets, meeting notes and separate attachments.
One Clearly Identified Case
Customer, part, claim reference, responsible quality owner, dates and team information stay connected to the problem being solved.
Quantities, Dates and Control Status
Controlled stock, WIP, inspection completion, defect quantities, sample receipt, production-control decisions and PPM information can be presented as part of one response.
The Claim Must Change More Than the Report
PFMEA, Control Plan, process or equipment standards, lessons learned and rollout to similar products or lines remain visible as part of prevention and closure.
Not Just “Fill This In.” It Explains How to Work Through It.
The booklet is designed to help the user understand what each part of the package is asking for, why it matters and how to build a stronger answer.
How to Use Each Discipline
Guidance on what belongs in each stage of the 8D, the kind of information the team should be gathering and how one discipline connects to the next.
How to Structure the Response
Practical explanation of how to answer customer-facing questions more clearly, distinguish facts from assumptions and avoid weak or generic statements.
How to Fill the 5 Why
Guidance for working through occurrence and detection logic rather than writing five disconnected sentences simply to complete the form.
How to Work With the Ishikawa
Explanation of how to use the cause categories to widen the investigation, challenge assumptions and identify areas that require evidence.
What Documents Should Be Attached
Guidance on the supporting documents and records that may be needed to make the claim response traceable, credible and easier to review.
What a Stronger Answer Looks Like
The booklet helps the user understand the level of specificity, evidence, ownership and logic expected from a professional response.
You Are Not Left Alone With the Package.
The package includes direct support so buyers can ask practical questions while using the system in their own organisation.
Detailed guidance on using the Master File, completing the D0–D8 flow, working through 5 Why and Ishikawa, structuring answers and identifying supporting documents and evidence.
One hour of direct support to discuss implementation, how to use the package, how to structure responses and questions arising from your organisation’s real quality workflow.
Follow-up support for up to ten practical questions relating to the use of the package, completing the files or understanding how to structure a stronger answer. Detailed support conditions are confirmed with the order.
The package follows the same customer-claim, evidence, root-cause and corrective-action discipline used across FIXERZ training and The 8D Survival Guide.
Your Company Logo on the Working Package.
The delivered package is prepared with the purchasing organisation’s company logo so the working files can sit naturally inside the company’s quality environment.
It Should Look Like a Tool Your Team Is Supposed to Use.
The Master File is not intended to arrive looking like a random internet download. The company logo is added to the working package so the customer, internal and supplier versions can be presented consistently inside the organisation.
This is particularly useful when the supplier-facing version is sent outside the organisation: the recipient can immediately see which customer or organisation requires the response and which controlled format is expected.
Any additional customisation beyond the standard company-logo preparation can be discussed separately with FIXERZ.
We Explain What the System Controls. We Do Not Publish the System Itself.
The detailed Master File layouts, prompts, working architecture and internal instructions are part of the paid product.
Customer Protection & Containment
Keep immediate response tied to risk, material status, ownership and evidence.
Root Cause & Corrective Action
Connect proven cause to action instead of allowing plausible explanations to become closure.
Verification & System Update
Keep effectiveness, prevention and closure connected to evidence that the system has actually changed.
Built for Organisations That Need One Stronger Claim-Response Discipline.
The package is intended for manufacturing teams working across customer quality, internal quality and supplier quality.
Request Access Before Launch.
Early-access requests allow FIXERZ to understand whether the package is being considered for individual professional use, internal company implementation or wider customer/supplier claim control.
Send the request directly to FIXERZ Academy. We can then discuss the intended use, the company-logo preparation and whether training or implementation support should be considered alongside the package.
